Core Staff

Mr. Abdul Wakeel (Executive Director)

Mr. Wakeel combines engineering studies with professional experience in banking and journalism. He has a strong focus on appropriate technology and rural banking to alleviate poverty and advance sustainable development. His work spans evaluation, participatory rural development, environmental programming, emergency relief, and rehabilitation. Over the past two years he has led projects exceeding 200 million in value with teams larger than 400 staff.

Mr. Mohammad Asif Kasi (Program Manager)

Mr. Kasi, an engineer by training, brings over 15 years of development-sector experience working with the UN, international, and national organizations. He has implemented emergency and long-term projects covering education, governance, water and sanitation, women and child rights, reproductive health, and participatory information systems in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and AJK. He specializes in participatory and rights-based approaches.

Engr. Mr. Welayat Said (Manager Technical)

Civil Engineer Welayat Said has served SSD for eight years as Technical Consultant. He offers deep expertise in civil design, bills of quantities, PC-1 preparation, and supervising on-site implementation. His background includes more than two decades across government and international construction firms.

Mr. Ayat Ullah (Programme Officer)

Ayat Ullah holds MBA/MS and BBA degrees with specialization in human resource management and research in gender mainstreaming. He also completed a master’s in sociology. With six years in development, he is a specialist in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and participatory development for WATSAN, child protection, DRR, emergency response, education, and livelihood. Proficient in PRA tools, EGRA/EGMA, BCC, community scorecards, FGDs, results-based monitoring, KAP surveys, and child-to-child approaches, he has worked with diverse national and international agencies.

Mr. Raees Ahmad

Mr. Raees, a civil diploma associate engineer, brings more than 20 years of infrastructure and civil works experience gained both abroad and in Pakistan.

Mr. Haris Noman

Mr. Haris is a commerce graduate with over eight years of service across national development agencies as an administration and finance officer. Skilled in financial systems, HR, logistics, and inter-office coordination, he has supported SSD for the past six years as Manager Admin/Finance.

Mr. Muhammad Asad

Mr. Asad holds a master’s in anthropology and has over a decade of participatory development experience. He coordinates SSD’s outreach and community mobilization, covering PRAs, CBO formation and capacity building, health and hygiene education, KAP surveys, child-to-child trainings, baseline socio-economic surveys, and documentation. He currently manages WASH projects in the Jalozai, Larama, and Kacha Garhi IDP camps with a team of 12 technical and 60 hygiene promotion staff.

Mr. Hameedullah Safi

Mr. Hameed holds a master’s in sociology and has served the development sector for eight years. He is a specialist in participatory development for WATSAN, child protection, education, and livelihood. Experienced with PRA tools, BCC, and KAP surveys, he has managed both emergency and regular projects across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during his six years with SSD.

Mr. Bilal Ahmad

Mr. Bilal earned a master’s in Pakistan studies and has more than 10 years in development. He has led WASH, education, and child protection projects and currently manages SSD’s Muzaffarabad office and WAQIPH projects in AJK and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mr. Ziaurrehman

Mr. Zia is a master’s graduate in international relations with over five years of participatory development experience. He coordinates SSD’s Malakand, Dir, and Swat region activities, supporting PRAs, CBO formation, health and hygiene education, KAP surveys, child-to-child trainings, socio-economic baselines, and documentation. He presently oversees UNDP and UNICEF CBI and WASH initiatives in Lower Dir and Swat.

Miss Sarwat Ara

Miss Sarwat holds a master’s in English literature and more than ten years of development-sector experience. She excels in proposal development, training delivery on PRA tools and BCC, module design, and needs assessments. She serves SSD as Program Coordinator at the head office.

Miss Saadia Khan

Miss Saadia, with a master’s in economics and six years of community development experience, specializes in monitoring, evaluation, and documentation. She leads SSD’s M&E section.

Miss Shamim Azam

Miss Shamim, a master’s graduate in social work, has five years in community development. She is well-versed in CtC, KAP, FRESH, and FLAHEE hygiene education approaches.

Miss Sidra Khalid

Miss Sidra holds a master’s in development sciences and has more than two years of HR experience. She manages SSD’s HR section.

Mr. Burhan Khan (Accounts Officer)

Mr. Burhan is a commerce graduate proficient in all aspects of accounting and record-keeping aligned with standard procedures.

Miss Qurrat-ul-Ain Shafiq

Miss Qurratulain is a graduate with over ten years of HR, administration, and logistics experience.

Key Associates

Ms Shahida Bibi

Ms Shahida is a renowned practitioner of the child-to-child approach and serves as a master trainer across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Muzaffarabad. She has independently delivered CtC and PRA training of trainers in remote areas, reaching thousands of teachers and trainers with over a decade of experience.

Ms. Rukhsana

Ms. Rukhsana is a law graduate with expertise in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. She supports project planning, resource coordination, program documentation, and management reviews.

Mr. Rizwan

Mr. Rizwan is a civil engineering graduate who serves as technical lead for water and sanitation hardware activities and troubleshooting. He manages a team of twelve site engineers.

Mr. Muhammad Adil

Mr. Adil holds an MSc in environmental sciences and brings significant development-sector experience. He is a key resource on water quality and solid waste management, having worked with the Department of Environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and specialized in water quality testing.
